Governor of Victoria Visits Eurambeen

On the May the 8th and 9th Sarah Beaumont and Ian Glover hosted a visit from the Governor of Victoria Alex Chernov and Mrs Chernov.

The Governor and Mrs Chernov enjoyed dinner at the homestead which included local produce and award winning Pyrenees wines.

The couple stayed overnight and in the morning took part in a tree planting ceremony in the historic gardens. Mr Chernov planted an Araucaria Bidwillii, a Bunya Pine to mark the beginning of restoration works in the historic Edna Walling Gardens.

The Australian Garden History Society has provided a grant to restore the Edna Walling Gardens at Eurambeen Historic Homestead and Gardens.

A commemorative plaque has been produced to commemorate the planting.
